YTT: “Packing” List
There were a lot of things that I remember having “nervous energy” about before starting teacher training: practicing yoga for 9 days in a row, learning anatomy (sanskrit, poses, etc.), meeting new people, opening myself up to a totally new experience…but on a more superficial level (but also practical I guess?) I was so very concerned about what to wear, what to bring. This weekend I didn’t even give what I packed a second thought. That is what is so nice about getting in a routine and more comfortable with a group of people. However, I think it is important to note my “packing” list because it would have saved me a little anxiety and over packing the first few days of my training if I had a clue where to start!

The Bag: Lululemon circa 2009. I would say this bag probably compares most to the Keep on Running Duffel that is now for sale (minus the shoe and mat pockets…sigh)
Prior to teacher training I only used this bag for weekend traveling. It’s a bit big for day to day classes for me, but works great for teacher training to pack an extra change of clothes, layers, notebooks, snacks, etc.

Mat, Towel, Mat Spray, Journal.
I have a Lululemon UnMat for practice at home, but use a pink Jade mat that I keep at SBY. And thank goodness for the lululemon towel...it saved me during the 9 day intensive in the tropical, Boston August heat. Literally, because it was semi hazardous how sweaty my mat was. Hence the Manduka mat spray... cleary I am an equal opportunity yoga brand user. Journal: I am using the same one throughout the training so I have all my thoughts together in one place.

Deodorant, Dry Shampoo and Face wash.
The first day I had grand ideas of showering after morning practice, etc. But it never happened. There really wasn’t time and I just ended up sweating all over again. So I came up with quick ways to “freshen” up so I didn’t feel too gross. I usually keep an extra set of clothes in the bag to change in the afternoon. And now that it is starting to get chilly (70s feels chilly compared to 90!) I brought an extra long sleeve layer for while we are going over anatomy, adjustments and other yoga “lessons”.

Local 149: Moscow Mule.Ok, so this didn’t come with me to YTT :) but I had it after training today…and in the “traditional” mug I was missing last time!
