Crossfit Yoga
Yesterday I had delicious eggs and peppers for breakfast. Aren’t they insanely bright yellow? Will brought them back from VT…fresh, local eggs. So that’s what they’re supposed to look like!

Scrambled eggs with red and green peppers topped with Frank’s Hot Sauce.
I’m not quite ready (mentally or physically!) to jump on the Crossfit bandwagon, but I have had the opportunity to take and teach some yoga at Vegabond Crossfit in Easton, MA. I went for the first time last Wednesday night. It has been a while since I have taken a yoga class outside of a yoga studio…it was awesome! And yesterday the instructor let me teach the start of class and lead through some Sun Salutations to get the class going. What luck that I found a Starbucks right off the highway on my way…

Tall whole milk latte with one pump of pumpkin spice!
I’m so ready to retire my iced coffee in favor of hot coffee/lattes. I don’t love sweet or flavored coffee so I found that 1 pump of the pumpkin spice is just enough to give me the fall flavor.
Vagabond has a really great open space and everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. There is a nice sense of community -from the owner to the yoga instructor to the athletes - that I could feel from the first time I went. The athletes also have a light hearted sense of humor about yoga…which is a change of pace from the seriousness I sometimes put on myself in the yoga studio.

Of course I was nervous to teach the start of class and started to put pressure on myself for it to be perfect. Fortunately I had a crazy busy day at work…which normally is not fortunate, but in this sense it gave me less time to worry or over analyze. Instead of focusing on perfection I just had to lean on how excited I am to start teaching and how fortunate I feel to have this opportunity to meet new people and lead a class. There were plenty of flaws, but everyone was so nice and supportive. And as the instructor and I joked you have to just jump in..sink or swim. Practice and making mistakes is really the only way to get started! It was also a great way to get feedback from the instructor (speak louder, use the front of the room) all of which is incredibly constructive and I would never know unless I tried.
Next week I’m teaching the whole class…I’m already brainstorming my sequencing and playlist! I’ll post when I finalize it (probably next Wednesday right before class!)
